Taylored Expression’s Birthday Bash Celebration!

Holy cow! There’s going to be a birthday bash over at Taylored Expressions. I went to Karen’s blog to see her Sunday sketch challenge and that’s when I saw the news. We are all invited to join the celebration! Hot dog! Cuppy is turning 1 year old. How cute is that! I don’t have any of their cute stamps (yet). But, you don’t have to use their stamps in order to join in the festivities and challenges.

They are going to have prizes, prizes and more prizes! This is going to be a great way for me to get my mojo back. So, if you are a visitor/reader of my blog and would like to participate in this challenge with me, I say LET’S DO IT! For more information hop on over to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing or Stamp A Sweet Impression for all the details. This is going to be fun and I can’t wait! I am so excited. WooWhoo! Maybe I’ll win a prize?!? That would be sssssweet!

Sorry so short but I’ve gotta run….

God Bless,

Hot & Cheeky Sassy (CTD45/CPS119)

Hi everyone! Well I managed to get a card done last night. I took my time about it, but hey it’s done. 🙂

I haven’t used my Sassy stamp for quite some time and I thought it was high time to pull her out again. So here she is all hot & cheeky as our British friends would say.

I “tried” to do two challenges for this card. Tried being the operative word here. The Color Throw Down #45 was great till I realized I used the wrong pink! Instead of using Pink Passion I used Pixie Pink.  Ooooops! hahahahah

Then I found this other challenge Card Positioning Systems Challenge 119 I wanted to do and I should have made the card taller and narrower in my opinion. Oh well.  Like I said, I “tried”. hehehehe

As it turns out I really like this card. I can only hope the person I plan to give it to likes it just as much.  *grins*  Hope you like this one. Everything is in The Buzz below. Thanks for looking!

Post Title: Hot & Cheeky Sassy

Color Throw Down #45

Card Positioning System 119

Stamps: Sassy and sentiments
Paper: All SU! – Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pixie Pink, DSP –> My mind is blank at the moment!

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pixie Pink, Green Galore

Punches/Dies: Cuttlebug slide dies, 1” circle punch, Top Note, Corner rounder

Accessories: Gemstone flowers (The Paper Studio), button from stash, pretty in pink & chocolate chip ¼” grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, adhesives –used were xyron, snail and Tombow, PrismaColor Pencils – PC922, PC914, PC927, PC1004, PC945, PC935, Black Diamond stickles for Sassy’s boots, and finally Fiskars Texture Plate (Hearts).

My base layer is chocolate chip followed by DSP (Can’t think of the name of this!). Then I cut my Top Note pieces from Pixie Pink and Whisper White. Whisper white was run through my cuttlebug with my fiskar’s heart texture plate and it was trimmed to fit on top of the other Top note piece. I inked the whisper white top note with chocolate chip. The green layer is the same DSP (at a complete loss) reversed. I inked my next chocolate chip layer with chocolate chip ink. Sassy was stamped onto whisper white, then colored with my Prismacolor pencils and inked on the edges with Pixie Pink. I used a tiny bit of black diamond stickles for her boots. The sentiment is on whisper white and chocolate chip. I inked the whisper white with a little pixie pink. The inside will be finished with the other part of the sentiment from this set…

“Did someone turn the heat up in here…”or is it just the candles on your cake?” Have a wonderful day!

Dad’s Birthday Card

dadsbday-03I needed something really quick for my Dad’s Birthday which is tomorrow. Eeeks! Thank goodness he loves me and won’t hold it against me when his card arrives after tomorrow. As you know, I haven’t been up to making any cards lately due to this tooth of mine. But, I’m feeling a bit better today for the first time in a couple of weeks. Enough to check out the sketch challenges and perhaps enough energy to do at least one. *wiggles eyebrows*

Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of stamping in Dad’s card.

But, I love the masculine look of it. I used a number of stickers I had in my stash and I like the overall look of it. He would take me fishing when I was a little girl. Well actually both my parents gave me a love for fishing. I still need to get my license for this year! Ack. Any who, I thought it would be nice to honor Dad with a card that takes a walk down memory lane for both of us. Well ladies you know the drill…it’s all in the Buzz below. 🙂

Thanks for buzzing by to take a look. Have a super day. And I hope to give you at least one more card today. I saw Karen’s sketch challenge and I think I can pull that one off. I have faith. 🙂 Thank you for your patience during these times when I haven’t been myself.

God bless and love to all of you…Sazxoxox

Birthday Greetings

Standard size 4.25 x 5.5.

I have a template of a commercial card I saw one day in at the store. I liked it so much I wanted to adapt it to a smaller size card.

I’m sorry the pictures appear washed out and/or faded looking. I will try to take better ones in the future. For this card, I took 1 inch from both the top and bottom of the front side of the card in order to make an unusual front. Just to let you know, this card will not stand on it’s own in the portrait style.

I used a corner rounder on the outside corners after cutting away the 1 inch border.

Although it’s hard to tell in the picture below, I pierced the top and bottom edges of my front. I used clear stamps for the butterfly and greeting, Stampin Up! designer paper for the front of the card and whisper white for the base. The ink was SU’s rose red and tempting turquois. The ribbon is SU’s striped bashful blue. After stamping the butterfly I used my colored pencils to give it some depth.

Thanks for buzzing by. 🙂
